Sorry about the title pun. I couldn't resist. :giggle:

I had massive paper fail with this one, for various reasons including my initial decision to use regular printer paper, which doesn't stand up well to my layers of shading, followed by my cat deciding to have a nap on it, and dribbling water on it. So I'm not happy with the shading. I wanted more shadows, but it just wouldn't cooperate.

Some of the feedback on the WIP has given me an idea for another, though, so expect more Jaq scribbles soon. *ducks thrown produce*

Anyway, yeah... This is for the =ScaryAtton mini-challenge "Toys". It's very important to take care of your toys. Anyone who's read my stories had to know this was coming, heh. =P

I really like this. His expression is so peaceful and calm. Your style is wonderfully soft and reminds me vaguely of Tim Burton-style claymation. I just love how meditative this looks.

Oh I like this! I'd pictured his stance entirely differently but this is very cool. He looks contemplative - something is definitely on his mind, possibly he's wondering why he still does this. That's just what I see though, the only criticism I might make would be to lengthen the forearms slightly and make the hands bigger. I think it would draw more attention to the whip. That said, I am uber jealous of your shading skills (even on the wrong paper ;)) And I love, love, LOVE his hair - it's just begging to have someone's fingers in it. :giggle:

I love his expression and pose. Paper I would recommend is anything with 120gsm or a bit higher.

I was going for contemplative with a hint of a smile, so am happy that some of that came through. More hands! Doh! I should've trusted my instinct because before shading began I had drawn them larger. Proper proportion continues to be a challenge for me.

I can't help but draw him with longer hair - particularly in the Jaq years. I figure he cut it when he went into hiding. Later, all that traveling around saving the galaxy... Who's got time for a haircut? =P

I'm so glad you like it! I tried to put just a hint of a smile in there, but I may need to tweak that a bit. It's hard to see at this size. I think he'd enjoy maintaining his toys since they kind of define him, and I definitely wanted it to look like there were thoughts buzzing around his skull.

I'll take any kind of Tim Burton-style comment as a total compliment since I adore him. :D

I'm going to try a more action-y pic next - an illustration from Beauty in the Breaking. Wish me luck, cause I'll need it, lol. I really appreciate hearing from you whenever I do Atton/Jaq stuffs, my friend. Thanks bunches for the fav!
